Conditional admission means that the student has met all the requirements for admission to the University except the required English test scores [official scores of 70 on TOEFL IBT (523 on PBT), or IELTS band score of 6.0]. Students admitted conditionally will first study in ELTI until they have received passing TOEFL or IELTS scores. You may also apply for admission to UNC Charlotte after you arrive; however, some students want to obtain conditional admission when applying to ELTI.
Conditional admission is available for most undergraduate (bachelor's) study programs, but is not available for graduate (master's, Ph.D) study. Conditional admission is NOT available for undergraduate programs that are extremely competitive, including Nursing, Architecture and most Art programs. An undergraduate admission counselor can provide more information.
